It's PO Box time

So we arrived at Fairbanks today to scope things out & get's what? I got a PO Box out of the deal! It finally occurred to me on the drive here that that is what I needed to do to get mail up here. And who doesn't love their daily credit card application...if only they'll be able to track me before I leave here... I won't hold my breathe. If I forget to get my address to you, just shoot me an email & ask for it.

It's picture time...how about our first moose sighting--quite miraculous & had clearly travelled some distance by the look of it. Did you know moose have southern accents? Well, this one sure did & was also quite friendly and gregarious. (Please notice lovely Mendenhall glacier in Juneau, AK in the background).
Here's a picture of my mom enjoying the tranquility of the great outdoors outside our home of 2 weeks surrounded by Alaska's state bird. Ok, so maybe mosquitoes aren't birds (but they are BIG). It's also ok because the picture is from Fort Nelson, Yukon, not AK, but whose keeping track? Really the bugs weren't bad. In fact, they've been essentially non-existent all trip, but when you've brought headnets along you simply have to use them at the earliest opportunity. Unfortunately for mosquitoes, the big ones are slow and dumb, i.e. easily squashable.
Just in case you didn't believe it, I actually am on this trip. Here's proof. (Yet another picture taken while directing the meanderings of Mr. Supersube). I guess this is better than the pic from the last post, because I'm not the one taking the picture.
