What? School Again?

Why am I in school again? Chalk it up to not thinking things through.

Life lesson learned: don't be too quick saying 'yes.' Take time to think a bit before committing to things. A little time and distance can help infinitely with perspective.

Here I am in Chicago for the day. Why? Because on a whim my boss (before I even began working) asked if I would like to take his class. I immediately responsed sure. Bad move. 6 hours of driving every Tues until early May to take a 4 hour class at the Univ of Illinois Chicago in Manual Therapy. The class is great, but who in there right mind starts taking more classes right after finishing a 2.5 year Master's program? Who starts a 3 credit class just as they begin his/her first job in their new professional career? Who begins said class the same day that they take their 5 hour boards exam? What an idiot!

So I'm going to make the most of it. I'm commuting down with my boss when I can...meaning I leave at 6-7am for a class that begins at 3pm. Nuts! So I have a bit of free time. Today I jumped on the pink line for downtown. My ideas to salvage my sanity after realizing the foolishness of my hasty decision include: wandering the downtown streets, taking 'artsy' pics, hanging at coffee shops, going to a museum, going to Navy Pier/Water Tower Place, stopping at Ikea on the way in/out. I'm certainly open for suggestions for fun Tues daytime activities to do in Chi-Town, so feel free to contribute to my lemonade making.

I'll try to post some Chi-Town pics soon.

(PS - Last week I found out I passed my boards, so I'm a legitimate PT!)

Congratulations, Liz!!! You are official!!! I'm so psyched to hear that you passed your boards. Psyched, but not surprised, ms. smartypants.
Chris suggests, for your Tuesday pleasure, driving into Harvard (or Kenosha) and taking the train down to Chicago. He says, "It's like a louder version of quiet time." He says you can consider this maybe just as a creative alternative, if you get bored with your usual commute.
Really funny post, by the way. I feel for you. Yikes! And I admire your lemonade-making from a potentially sour circumstance. Well done! I hope it tastes sweet!
Love to you from both of us.
